| Boulder, Colorado Extreme Wet Snow December 28/29th, 2006 A major winter storm struck Eastern Colorado on December 28th and 29th. Snowfall totals exceeded 28 inches in some locations. This was a chase that was bitter sweet. I was, however, never able to get into the area hit by the blizzard. I was, however, happy with the incredible wet snow event in Boulder. | Central Illinois
Snow and Ice Storm December 1, 2006 A major winter storm struck Central Illinois on November 30th and December 1st. Snowfall totals exceeded 14 inches in some locations. Significant icing was also reported across Central Illinois. Hundreds of thousands of people were left without power due to downed power lines. Some for more than a week. Ohio Valley Winter
Storm Record snowfall blanketed much of the Ohio
Valley during the latter part of December 2004. Snowfall totals of more than 14 inches were reported in
McCracken County, Kentucky. Interstate 24 was closed in some areas
for 3 days. I did not have to leave home for this major event! |
